John Gieve
John Gieve is currently the chairman of Nesta, the innovation charity, and is chair of Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He is also an independent director of payments company Vocalink and a member of the advisory board for MNI Connect.
Gieve has experience as an independent director and chair of the risk committees at Morgan Stanley International (2012–15) and CLS (2011–18). He was deputy governor of the Bank of England from 2006 to 2009. And from 2001 to 2005, Gieve was permanent secretary at the UK Home Office. Before that, he spent 20 years at the UK Treasury, which included being private secretary to three chancellors.
