Bernanke to lead BoE review of inflation forecasting

Former Federal Reserve chair will work with Bank of England officials

The Bank of England has chosen former Federal Reserve chair Ben Bernanke to lead a review of its inflation forecasting, it announced today (July 28).

Bernanke will work with the Independent Evaluation Office, an autonomous unit within the BoE that evaluates its research and policy performance. The BoE’s court of directors, its governance board, decided to launch the review at its May meeting.
