NY Fed releases supply chain pressure tracker
Recent months have seen resurgence of supply chain bottlenecks
The Federal Reserve Bank of New York has launched a new gauge of global supply chain pressures.
The indicator shows how many standard deviations supply chain pressures are from the mean, with data running from 1997 to today.
“Changes in the [indicator] are associated with goods and producer price inflation in the United States and the euro area, both during the pandemic period and stretching back to 1997,” say the economists who developed the metric.
