Swift plans new CBDC trials for members across traditional payment rails
Interoperability will be the key to the success of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), according to a new report published by global payment services provider Swift and consultancy Accenture.
The paper, which explores how CBDCs would work within an international context, concludes that there is “little advantage in reinventing the wheel”.
