ECB starts publishing statistics on secured euro money market

Data gathered using same methods used to measure unsecured segment of market

The European Central Bank published its first statistics on the secured euro money market today (January 11).

The ECB said it was publishing the data to “enhance market transparency and therefore improve money market functioning”.

The new data series complement the statistics on the unsecured euro money market, which the ECB has been publishing since November 2017. They include information on the markets’ total turnover and average rate for all the reserve maintenance periods of 2018.
