Afghanistan governor Delawari resigns
Delawari returned as governor in November 2011
Noorullah Delawari has resigned as Bank of Afghanistan governor, the central bank announced this week, and will be replaced on a temporary basis by his first deputy governor.
This signals the end of his second spell as governor. Delawari first led the central bank from 2004 to 2007, before returning to the institution in November 2011.
The president has accepted his resignation. The central bank published a statement highlighting successes in the field of monetary policy and reserve management
