ECB taking minutes leak ‘very seriously’
The New York Times gets hold of minutes from 2012 meetings
Confidential minutes of policy discussions at the European Central Bank (ECB) were leaked to the press last week – a breach the institution is taking "very seriously".
The ECB does not publish minutes of its governing council meetings. Indeed, its legal framework stipulates the "proceedings of the meetings shall be confidential".
Access to the minutes, which are supposed to remain out of the public eye for 30 years, is limited to the council members, their deputies and a few other high-ranking
