Slovakia ex-chief made OECD ambassador

Days after his departure from the top job at the National Bank of Slovakia over political interference, Ivan Šramko has been confirmed as his country's ambassador to the Paris-based Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Local media reported that the Slovak foreign affairs minister, Miroslav Lajčák, confirmed the posting on Wednesday. Lajčák added that Šramko is expected to take office in the weeks ahead. According to Radio Slovakia International, a domestic broadcaster
