Adams says Japan's deflation fight almost over

A senior U.S. Treasury official indicated on Wednesday 1 March that Japan has nearly beaten deflation, and China should allow its currency to be more flexible.

"I do think that the majority of indices indicate that the worst is behind us and that improvements are under way," U.S. Treasury Undersecretary for International Affairs Timothy Adams told reporters in Tokyo, when asked if he thinks deflation is over in Japan.

Adams only said the BOJ has "very professional officials" who he expects to take
