Split in Bulgaria over nomination of cb governor

Source: Bulgarian News Network

Bulgaria's ruling coalition seemed split Thursday on whom to nominate for next Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) governor.

The six-year term of current BNB Governor Svetoslav Gavriyski expires next Wednesday, when Parliament is expected to elect a new central bank chief.

Gavriyski has said he would run for a second term and two small parties of the governing coalition - Oborishte and the Party of Bulgarian Women - announced Thursday they would support his candidacy.
