BoJ considers parallel processing in CBDC design
Central bank adds two new working groups to its preparations for digital currency pilot programme
Japan’s central bank has published the latest update, in English, to the preparatory work for its central bank digital currency (CBDC) pilot programme.
The report, released today (November 29), is the first since the Bank of Japan (BoJ) issued its interim findings earlier this year. The latest report includes a provision for record splitting to enhance parallel processing.
The BoJ has also established two new working groups. One focuses on the coexistence of CBDCs and other payment instruments
