Digital euro should co-exist with commercial bank money, BdF official says
Nicolas de Labarre highlights further details of the CBDC project
“We want to find the right balance between central bank and commercial money,” Nicolas de Labarre of the Banque de France said about the digital euro, at a conference today (September 12).
De Labarre is head of innovation and product support for European market infrastructures. Co-management of the digital euro by central banks and commercial banks is currently the focus of “intensive discussions”, he said on a panel at the Hyperledger Global Forum. An update on this will come soon, he added.
