
Bitcoin remarks ‘a surprise to CNB staff’ – source
Concern that planned asset allocation review is just “cover-up to push through crypto”

Recent comments by the Czech National Bank (CNB) governor on crypto investments “came out of the blue” for the bank’s staff and its executive board, a source has told Central Banking.
A source at the CNB with close knowledge of the matter says Aleš Michl did not consult with the rest of the executive board before publicly discussing that the bank might add crypto to its reserves.
Michl first floated the idea of adding “just a few bitcoins” to the bank’s reserves in an interview with CNN Prima News
