Belarus central bank cancels meetings calendar

The Belarusian central bank has cancelled all scheduled monetary policy meetings for the rest of 2021, it reported on March 12. The central bank said interest rate moves “will be considered as required”.

The National Bank of the Republic of Belarus also decided to maintain the policy rate at its current level of 7.75%. This rate has remained stable since June 2020. The decision to hold comes despite inflation running above target, which specifies a 5% maximum rate. As of February 2021, the
