Peru holds policy rate at 4.75%

BCRP stays put as inflation and growth continue to move in right direction

The Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) has held its policy rate at 4.75% amid slowing inflation and steady growth.

In a statement, published on March 13, the bank’s board said indicators for economic activity had been showing “higher growth” in recent months. It added that indicators related to expectations of economic activity remained in “optimistic territory”.

Year-on-year headline inflation dropped to 1.5% in February from 1.9% in January, a movement the board said had been partly influenced
