Six senior former policy-makers call for tighter eurozone policy as Draghi’s term nears its end

Six senior former policy-makers from Germany and other northern European countries published a memorandum today (October 4), strongly criticising the European Central Bank’s quantitiative easing (QE) policy. 

The memorandum is the latest sign that senior figures in the economic and political worlds in northern European countries, especially Germany, are pushing strongly for tighter ECB policy. Mario Draghi is due to leave his post as ECB governor on October 31, to be replaced by Christine
