Bank of Israel launches journalist briefings as part of transparency drive

Central bank begins quarterly briefings of journalists and adds new publications

The Bank of Israel is to begin holding regular press briefings as part of a broader effort to boost transparency, which has also seen the central bank launch new publications.

The briefings will take place quarterly, following the publication of interest rate decisions, and will be webcast live. The format will involve governor Karnit Flug explaining the main factors affecting monetary policy and answering questions from reporters. Forecasts from the research department will be published
