Nepal suspends governor as economic problems deepen

Maha Prasad Adhikari faces possible dismissal, as Nepal struggles to cope with Covid-19 fallout

The government of Nepal has suspended central bank governor Maha Prasad Adhikari, as it struggles to control mounting economic problems.

The government accused Adhikari of leaking sensitive information and failing to perform his duties effectively, the Kathmandu Post reported on April 9.
