A Vietnamese court jailed several former central bank officials over a $12.5 billion financial fraud, and sentenced a property tycoon to death for her role in the case.

The court in Ho Chi Minh City passed the death sentence on Truong My Lan on April 12, after finding her guilty of bribery, violating banking regulations and embezzlement.
