RBA names Susan Woods as first chief operating officer

Independent review called for COO role to give senior officials more time for policy matters

The Reserve Bank of Australia has named Susan Woods as the central bank’s first chief operating officer (COO).

Woods, current assistant governor of corporate services at the central bank, will take up her new role on March 4, the RBA said in a statement today (February 26). In her current role, Woods oversees areas including information technology, data governance and strategic planning.

As COO, Woods will work with deputy governor Andrew Hauser to ensure the co-ordination of policy, operational
