China and Hong Kong to strengthen capital market ties, senior official says
Hong Kong markets should be able to trade in Chinese government debt futures, says Fang Xinghai
Financial regulators in mainland China and Hong Kong will work together to expand the Stock Connect schemes, a senior Chinese financial regulator has said.
Speaking at a financial forum, Fang Xinghai, vice-chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), said regulators from both regions should strengthen ties between their capital markets. Fang also said Hong Kong’s financial markets should be able to trade futures based on Chinese government debt.
