Standard measures understate slack in European labour markets – ECB paper

Researchers use survey data from 24 countries to track effects of sovereign debt crisis

A working paper published by the European Central Bank uses firm-level data collected by the wage dynamics network of the European system of central banks to see how the sovereign debt crisis affected labour markets.

In Credit shocks and the European labour market, Katalin Bodnár et al use responses to questionnaires sent to firms in 24 European Union countries from 2010 to 2013.
