IMF raises projections for China, Japan and eurozone as the UK and US falter

The International Monetary Fund has revised upwards its 2017 growth expectations for China, Japan and the euro area countries but downgraded the forecast for the US and UK, leading to a balanced outlook overall.

The IMF today (July 24) published an update to its World Economic Outlook, a survey by the fund’s staff published every April and October, with updates in January and July. The fund kept its global growth projection unchanged at 3.5% for 2017.
