BoE launches new £5 note with ‘Kinegram Colors’ technology taking centre stage

The Bank of England has broken a 322-year-old tradition by issuing the first of its new polymer note series today (June 2), the first note in the world to feature a new foil technology.

But in the words of Winston Churchill, who appears on the note: "To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often."

The new five-pound note, bearing the face of Britain's famous wartime prime minister, was launched by governor Mark Carney today at Blenheim Palace, Churchill's birthplace, and features
