Oil prices may be a key driver of metal prices, according to the results of a working paper published by the Central Bank of Colombia.
"The interdependence between commodity-price and GDP cycles: a frequency domain approach", by Jair N Ojeda-Joya, Oscar Jaulin-Mendez and Juan C Bustos-Peláez, explores the interdependence between oil and the remaining commodity prices in order to understand "supply-side determinant of medium and long-term commodity price fluctuations" and suggest policy.
