Dennis Lockhart: "The picture is not really worsening"

The president of the Atlanta Federal Reserve remains "mildly" optimistic for 2016, with employment showing signs of positive growth and inflation forecasts beginning to converge to target.

Speaking at the Rotary Club in Atlanta, Dennis Lockhart noted his key focus for the year will be the behaviour of inflation.

"Inflation is below where we want it, below what we consider to be healthy, but the picture is not really worsening," he said.

While inflation does not appear to be worsening, Lockhart
