Ingves addresses Basel 25th anniversary audience

Stefan Ingves, governor of Sweden's central bank, the Riksbank, and chairman of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, today addressed an audience in Basel including Paul Volcker and former committee chairman Peter Cooke, on the 25th anniversary of the first Basel Accord on bank capital.

Ingves highlighted five factors that have "shaped what the committee is today and will continue to guide its activities in the future", kicking off with its "evolution from a coordinating and information
