The past 12 months have been difficult for Mongolia, but the country is likely to start to emerge from its economic slump towards the end of 2017, the central bank's forecasts imply.

Released on February 3, Bank of Mongolia's latest inflation report revised down the expected path for growth.

It estimated growth remained weak throughout the latter stages of 2016, but expects it to improve "marginally" in 2017, in line with an improvement in the economies of Mongolia's trading partners.
