Finance minister becomes member of Philippines’ monetary board
The Philippines: The president of the Philippines has appointed his finance minister to the seven-member monetary board of the country's central bank. Carlos Dominguez III joins as the "designated cabinet member representative to the board", the bank announced today (August 5).
Dominguez holds a bachelor's degree in economics and an MBA from Ateneo de Manila University, and a PhD from Stanford University in the US. He replaces Cesar Purisima on the rate-setting body, chaired by Amando Tetangco
