IMF to publish informal briefings on Argentina

The International Monetary Fund will grant Argentina’s request to publish informal assessments of its economy made over the past three years, it confirmed today (February 26).

The country's authorities asked the IMF to publish “informal board briefings” compiled by fund staff between 2013 and 2015 in the absence of a formal Article IV consultation. The most recent consultation was completed in 2006.

At the time the request was made, the fund's guidelines stated that briefing documents would not
