Zeti warns of ‘immense' challenges in 2016
Bank Negara Malaysia governor warns of potentially persistent threats to long-term growth at the AFF conference in Hong Kong, but sees a silver lining if policy-makers get it right
Policy-makers face an "immense" challenge this year in dealing with multiple "major" developments threatening the global economy, Bank Negara Malaysia governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz warned today (January 18) in Hong Kong.
Speaking during a panel discussion at the annual Asian Financial Forum, chaired by Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) chief executive Norman Chan, Zeti underscored the importance of building robust financial systems able to withstand market turmoil.
