Francois Groepe highlights main elements of proposals for a new resolution framework

A South African Reserve Bank (Sarb) deputy governor emphasised the importance of plugging holes in the country's resolution framework on September 15 – identifying the key elements he would like to see in a Special Resolution Bill.

The country's existing framework for dealing with failed institutions is fragmented, contained in various pieces of legislation and regulation, Francois Groepe told a public workshop in Cape Town.
