South Sudan replaces governor

South Sudan has replaced its central bank governor only a month after it gained independence, according to the newswire Reuters.

Elijah Malok, the outgoing governor, reportedly said his deputy, Kornelio Koriom, had replaced him at the central bank. He did not offer a reason for the change.

Koriom was also chairman of the South Sudan Currency Conversion Committee, whose work progressed rapidly to get the country's new currency in circulation.
