US policy threatens emerging markets: China’s top regulator

Liu Mingkang, the chairman of China's Banking Regulatory Commission, said on Saturday that the weak dollar and low interest rates in the US were creating "unavoidable risks for the recovery of the global economy."

The Wall Street Journal, a business newspaper, quoted Liu as saying that the dollar situation was "seriously impacting global asset prices and encouraging speculation in stock and property markets."

Liu's remarks coincided with US President Barack Obama's first state visit to China
