Comms teams average less than 2% of central bank workforce

Majority of units operate centralised communications models

Communications teams average a little over 1% of the central bank’s total workforce, according to data from the Communications Benchmarks 2024.

Data provided by 35 respondents shows that communications employees average 19.1 individuals on a full time-equivalent basis. The figure represents 1.3% of the average 1,468 workforce of participating institutions.

A high income country from the Americas accounts for the highest staff size of 117 individuals. A lower-middle income jurisdiction from Africa
