A round-up of central bankers in the news and on the move during the past three months
The president of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, has nominated a new governor, Olayemi Cardoso, and four new deputy governors to the Central Bank of Nigeria. The Nigerian senate confirmed the appointments on September 26. Cardoso is a former chair of Citibank Nigeria, and was Tinubu’s budget minister when the latter was governor of Lagos State. Among the four deputy governors is Muhammad Sani Abdullahi, a former adviser to UN secretary-general Ban Ki-Moon. Cardoso replaces Godwin
