Heightened uncertainty from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic required many reserve managers to rebalance their portfolios and rethink their liquidity approaches, according to the Reserve Management Benchmarks 2021.

Over the past year, reserve managers increased their liquidity tranches from 34% of their portfolios in 2020 to 42.7%. Additionally, 29% of participants gained access to new tools such as the Federal Reserve Fima facility. This new Federal Reserve Bank of New York scheme offers
