The last two years have seen considerable challenges for central banks, and the tasks they face may be getting even more difficult. Inflation is rising across both developed and emerging economies. China’s authorities have clear concerns over the stability of their financial institutions, which may cause similar problems in other jurisdictions. This environment will see the governments and the public in many countries pay even closer
