Fed likely to ‘institutionalise’ policy framework review, Powell says
Move would likely be akin to the Bank of Canada’s routine five-year review
The Federal Reserve will likely be conducting more regular monetary policy framework reviews in future, chairman Jerome Powell said in the recent rate decision press conference.
“I would imagine this entire monetary policy review will become institutionalised and be done every few years,” he told reporters.
Powell’s remarks suggest the review could be akin to the routine five-year review conducted by the Bank of Canada. In November last year, the BoC said it would conduct a “full horse race”
