Haldane: ‘superforecasters’ could help central banks
Non-experts could help solve difficult problems for central banks, says Andy Haldane
Drawing on the “wisdom of crowds” could help central banks solve challenging problems, the Bank of England’s chief economist said on September 19.
At a conference to mark the 100th anniversary of the Bank of Estonia, Andy Haldane said central banks needed to work to repair trust following the financial crisis.
As well as central banks working to improve the general public’s understanding of the economy, Haldane suggested members of the public could help central banks.
