India: A new deputy governor at the Reserve Bank of India, Mahesh Kumar Jain, took over his new responsibilities on June 22.
The Indian government had appointed him for a three-year term on June 4. Before joining the RBI, Jain had acted as managing director and chief executive of IDBI Bank.
Jain holds a master’s degree in commerce and business administration, as well as chartered financial analyst and financial risk management qualifications.
