RBA assistant governor discusses impact of OTC repository licensing

An assistant governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), Malcolm Edey, on October 18 explained how establishing a licensing regime for trade repositories in the Australian over-the-counter derivatives market would impact the central bank.

The potential regime, recommended to the Australian government by the Council of Financial Regulators, will be administered by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. The RBA, Edey said at a Sydney conference, will have three main functions
