Former Bank governor dies
Gordon Richardson, the governor of the Bank of England from 1973 to 1983, has died.
Lord Richardson, who passed away on 22 January, was 94.
He presided over the Bank at one of the most turbulent periods in Britain's post-war economic history.
"He saw the Bank through ten very difficult years, and was a determined and principled man," Michael Foot, the chairman of Promontory Financial Group UK who served under Lord Richardson during his time at the Bank, told CentralBanking.com.
