Bank of Japan to keep 'accommodative' policy

Bank of Japan governor Toshihiko Fukui said Wednesday 21 February it will maintain its "accommodative" monetary policy for some time, after voting to raise interest rates.

Fukui was speaking after the central bank's policy board voted 8-1 to hike the overnight call rate target to 0.50 pct from 0.25 pct.
