Central Bank of Argentina makes third cut in three weeks

Central bank cuts rate on its 35-day Lebac bonds to 25.25%

The Central Bank of Argentina continued easing on November 22, cutting the policy rate to 25.25% as it said estimates of inflation for November were in line with its target.

The move is the third 50-basis point cut in the space of three weeks. Earlier this month, official data from the nation's statistical agency, Indec, showed monthly inflation had risen to 2.4% in October – well above the central bank's target of 1.5% for the final three months of 2016.
