Svensson sheds light on Riksbank division
Sveriges Riksbank's Lars Svensson explained his long-standing divide with the central bank's monetary policy consensus in a speech delivered in Stockholm on November 14. Svensson and Karolina Ekholm, both deputy governors, have advocated a more expansionary monetary policy than other members of the Riksbank's executive board this year and in 2011.
The central bank's repo rate currently sits at 1.25%, after the board voted to cut the rate by 25 basis points in two of its five meetings in 2012
