Juncker confirms release of latest funds for Greece

The president of the Eurogroup, Jean-Claude Juncker, today (March 14) announced that member countries have "formally approved the second adjustment programme" for Greece, allowing the release of billions in emergency funding.

The rescue package will keep Athens funded until 2014. "All required national and parliamentary procedures have been finalised," said Juncker. This means the eurozone member states have authorised the European Financial Stability Facility to release the first instalment of
