PBOC official says prepared for yuan reform

A deputy governor of the People's Bank of China said the central bank is now "technically" prepared to carry out currency reforms, according to a report published Wednesday 11 May.

In an interview with the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Deputy Governor Wu Xiaoling criticised the US for pressuring China for currency reforms and calling for the expansion of the currency band.
