ECB rates not an obstacle: Stark

The current level of interest rates in the 12-country eurozone is no obstacle to economic growth in the single currency region, the Bundesbank's interim president Juergen Stark said in newspaper interviews on Monday 26 April.

Stark appeared to rule out the need for a rate cut saying "The level of interest rates in the euro area does not constitute an obstacle to growth," in an interview with the daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

And in a separate interview with the business daily Handelsblatt
