Bank of Japan's Monetary Policy Meeting Minutes

Minutes of the Bank of Japan's Monetary Policy Meeting on 7 and 8 August 2003, released 18 September. On the outlook for Japan's economy, members agreed that the standard scenario remained valid: the uptrend in exports and production would resume gradually with the anticipation that the growth rate of overseas economies would accelerate in the second half of 2003, and this would in turn initiate the momentum for an economic recovery.
